Born in Athens in 1955. Nena Venetsanou began taking piano lessons from 6 years old. In 1973 went to France for university studies at Besason Art History and took singing lessons in Paris from Irma Kolasi.

Returning to Greece in 1977 faced in touch with the new reality of Greek society. She writes her first songs made for the Women’s Movement benchmark in Greece. She meets Eleni Karaindrou and Christos Leonti, appears on TV and gives her first outdoor concert in front of 3000 people. Her participation in a TV contest aimed to promote new talent, gives her a Price.

In the third radio program sing in the successful show of «Here Lilliput» where she meets Manos Hadjidakis, head of the Third radio program. Another meeting in her career was with Alekos Papatsifa, the best Greek producer. So at age of 24 years began creating a balance between classical technique & folk song and manages to impose an exemplary track that led her to the front of Greek artists.

She has collaborated with famous composers and singers: Manos Hadjidakis, Nikos Mamangakis and Mikis Theodorakis. For more than 15 years associated with the music of Manos Hadjidakis, when after his resignation from the radio, she decided to show song cycles in concert form, choosing from the late works and composing new. She sings almost all the songs of him and participates in a variety of concerts abroad.
